Modeling and Simulation Associate Scientist

The successful candidate will work with a world-class team of scientists responsible for developing, validating, and applying a mathematical model of disease progression and treatment. The Archimedes model is based on biology, physiology, medicine, epidemiology and superior mathematical modeling techniques.

Archimedes is an innovation of, and is funded by, Kaiser Permanente and is intended to benefit healthcare worldwide.
Responsibilities
As an Associate Scientist, you will:
- Work with clients to understand their needs and goals; design simulations using the Archimedes model to achieve those goals
- Review the scientific literature and extract data and information relevant for client projects
- Analyze client data to develop models of their therapeutic agents
- Run, analyze, and interpret simulation results
- Create presentations and reports on the findings
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree with mathematical, statistical, physical, or biological sciences concentration; Master's preferred
- Experience in one or more of the following: mathematical modeling, statistical modeling, simulation, stochastic modeling, and/or data analysis
- Experience programming in languages such as Java or Python and experience with data analysis tools such as R, SAS, Matlab, or Mathematica
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, writing, and communication skills
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team and a willingness to learn
- Experience in health and economics outcomes research, clinical trial planning and execution, and/or pharmaceutical development is a plus
